EPIROS cheeses are produced at a state-of-the-art production and packaging unit, in the region of Epirus, in Ammotopos, Arta.
Approximately 25,000 tons of sheep & goats’ milk is processed annually at EPIROS plant. The company’s production capacity and methods, its consistent investment in technology, research & development, plus an innovative spirit combined with in-depth knowledge and experience of tradition, guarantee the excellent quality of EPIROS products.
EPIROS Light is a white cheese product in brine. It’s made of 100% Greek, partly skimmed, fresh milk and its fat content is 12%. EPIROS Light is part of the successful EPIROS range of products and was produced to cover the need for low fat white cheese, following contemporary consumer trends. EPIROS Light has only 56 calories and 3.6g of fat per 30g portion while remaining rich in protein, calcium and vitamins.
Since its launch in 2008, EPIROS Light has received 4 awards in national and international competitions. In 2008 participated in the Nantwich International Cheese Show in Great Britain, the biggest international cheese festival in the world with 30 countries taking part and over 3,000 competing cheese products. EPIROS Light won the “Top Preferred Taste Award” in the special cheeses category; two years later, in 2010, it won the Bronze Award in the low-fat white cheese category. Recently, it has received two more important distinctions awarded by the independent organization iTQi.
