Quality Assurance

Food Safety & Quality

For all of us, ensuring the quality of our products is a fundamental value and a constant pursuit. For this reason, we set the strictest specifications for all our operational procedures—from securing the best milk and adhering to rigorous hygiene and safety standards at every stage of the production process, to the transportation of the final product to the consumer.

All EPIRUS S.A. production units are certified according to the most demanding food safety standards, BRC, recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), while all commercial facilities of Optima are certified with the international food safety management standard ISO 22000.

Our goal, beyond producing high-quality food, is to offer tasty and healthy choices to consumers. We carefully develop new product options with reduced salt, fewer calories, less fat, and higher levels of protein and fiber, while also providing options for vegan & vegetarian consumers. We innovate with speed and flexibility, sharing nutritional information and encouraging a healthy lifestyle.

Compliance with legislation

Our products meet all quality standards set by Greek and European legislation for food production and packaging.

Strict storage and distribution conditions

Strictly controlled conditions are maintained for the storage and transportation of our products. The continuous temperature recording system in our refrigerated chambers and the satellite monitoring system of our refrigerated trucks ensure the preservation of the cold chain.

Quality control

A wide range of analyses are conducted in our laboratories, while samples are also sent for testing to certified private laboratories.

Communication with the consumer

We maintain an open line of communication for our products, seeking ongoing dialogue and exchange of views with our consumers.

Farms

At our Farms, every aspect of their operation—from precision feeding and digital monitoring of each animal, to health and environmental management—is based on expertise and respect for both animals and humans. Advanced information systems are used for real-time monitoring of each animal’s health and production, while certified welfare practices are implemented to promote natural behavior and development.
